This simple cream cheese frosting is perfect for cakes, garnishing cheesecakes or just eating with a spoon. Just kidding… maybe. It’s rich and creamy… and easy to make with just 4 staple ingredients.
cream cheese frosting
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese (softened)
- 1 stick butter, at room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 – 4 cups confectioners sugar
Cream the cream cheese and butter together until completely smooth and creamy (no lumps!).
Add in the vanilla and mix again. Then gradually add the confectioners sugar until you get a consistency you like for piping or spreading.
Refrigerate if not using immediately.
